The Party Leader and all members of the NDC join with our members from the Constituency of the Town of Saint George in mourning the loss of one of our stalwart members, Mr. Anthony Welsh of River Road, St. George.
As a long standing member, Mr. Welsh often served as a delegate to the party’s Convention and volunteered as an election day worker, as recent as election 2018.
More than his service to the NDC, Mr. Welsh demonstrated his patriotism by serving as the Sergeant at Arms for the Houses of Parliament for many years. He was also the head tailor, responsible for outfitting the men and women of the Royal Grenada Police Force for very many years.
The various radio and TV talk shows will miss this regular voice, calling in and taking the NNP to task on national issues ranging from good governance and transparency to oil and gas and the mishandling of Grenlec. Claudette Joseph, NDC’s Caretaker for the Town of St. George, credits Mr. Welsh with helping her put the dossier on Grenlec together, that enabled her to educate the people on the truth, and exposed the lies and deception told about that matter. He was indeed a noble warrior for the country.
We of the NDC extend deepest condolences to his family and friends. He will be greatly missed. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
