The Party Leader, Executive Committee and members of the NDC express heartfelt condolences to the immediate family and friends of Ms. Maude Hutchinson on her recent passing. Indeed, we join with them and the community of Mt. Rose in morning her loss.
Ms. Hutch, was a retired school teacher, nutritionist, community leader and founding member of the NDC, who remained committed to the organization and its values to the very end. Members of the St. Patrick’s East Constituency and the Women’s Arm of the party recall her invaluable contributions, not least of which was composition of the anthem of our Women’s Arm and being the head chef of many party events.
Former Prime Minister and MP for St. Patrick’s East, in reflecting on the contributions made by this stalwart member, had this to say: “Maude was a really dedicated and committed party member. Her place [home] was always available for discussions and other social activities. She always prepared meals and refreshments, gave great ideas and donated personal resources to our causes. Maude was a real community leader and her passing is a loss to the community and to all of us who aspire to be community leaders.”
We pray the Lord grants her eternal rest and welcomes her to the Paradise he has prepared for His faithful servants like Ms. Hutchinson.
