Women's Arm of the NDC

The National Democratic Congress Women's Arm is a dynamic, hard-working and committed group of Grenadian women, all sharing the collective interest of advancing and recognizing the rights, involvement and participation of women in the political field.

The arm played a vital role in advocating for reforms of women rights during the period 2008-2013, which saw the passage of The Domestic Violence Act (2010) , The Child Protection and Adoption Act (2010) and The Juvenile Justice Act (2012) eading to reductions in the levels of domestic abuse and improvement in the quality of life for children. It was during this time the most progressive social reforms were experienced in Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique..

The Women's Arm continues to play a pivotal role within the organization, advocating for representation of women in organizations. Currently, 50 percent of the members of the National Executive Council (NEC) of the NDC are women, with a woman at the helm, political leader Franka Bernardine.

If you are a champion for women's rights, join the movement. Let’s work together to build a safer and more inclusive environment for women and girls in Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique.
